Hyundai Tucson 2017 - First Drive Review at Rs-25.19 lakh in India
Hyundai Motor India today introduced the most awaited the 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) system in Tucson enhancing the portfolio of the SUV in the India. The Intellimatic 4WD Tucson offers a perfect combination of a high-performance off-roader SUV along with comfort.
Commenting on the introduction of 4WD Tucson, Mr. Y K Koo, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, The Hyundai are happy to introduce the most awaited 4WD Global SUV – TUCSON to the Indian market in this time. Hyundai will offer the 4WD option on the top-spec 2.0-litre GLS automatic variant. Hyundai has already begun taking bookings for the Tucson 4WD across dealerships in India. The Tucson offers 'On-Demand 4WD functioning' which means that the SUV automatically understands when there is the need for 4WD to be engaged, by assessing the nature of the terrain and implements traction control on the rear wheels. The engine distributes the power to all wheels without the driver needing to intervene. On the exterior front, the new Tucson 4WD gets dual barrel LED headlamps, LED positioning lamp, LED DRL, LED tail lights, chrome finished front grille, roof rails, Rear Spoiler with LED high mount stop lamp, front fog lamps and rear fog lamps, shark fin antenna, 18-inch alloy wheels and more. Dimension-wise, it remains the same as that of 2WD variant which gets the 4475mm length, 1850mm width, 1660mm height and 2670mm wheelbase respectively. The Hyundai car Safety-wise, newly launched Hyundai Tucson 4WD gets 6-airbags in the system, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Down Hill Brake Control (DBC) & Brake Assist and more. The 4WD System comes with - ‘On Demand 4WD Functioning’ which automatically implements Rear Wheel Traction Control by assessing road conditions & maintain utmost traction on rough, loose or slippery surfaces, improving stability while cornering. When the Hyundai car driving in this mode the system determines intelligently that there is a need for 4WD based on the best terrain and the engine driving power automatically get distributed to all of 4 wheels without the driver’s intervention in the car.
